Tons of Gorgeous Vintage Dining Furniture on Sale!

Hi Everyone,

Well, I was planning to add more to this post where I shared some affordable vintage pieces that could be left as is, maybe with some sprucing, or they could be painted to look more Gustavian or French.

However, as I began collecting, I realized that there is a glut of gorgeous dining furniture– on sale. And a lot of it is for a short time only.

But, but, but… Here’s the thing about vintage furniture that goes on sale for a so-called “limited time.”

Once a vintage item goes on sale, you already know the vendor will take that lower price and be very happy to make the sale. The limited time thing is a marketing ploy. At least when it comes to vintage furniture, you can always offer a lower price. But you guys already know that.

Okay, I have to ask a small favor.

I love Chairish and have purchased many items from that vendor for myself. However, if you click on my image (link) and then you favorite that item, and go back to Chairish the next day or even an hour later, to purchase that item or something else, I won’t get the commission. That’s because the affiliate cookie only lasts for one session.

Most of the other vendors do not do this.

Typically, cookies last for 30 days, except for Amazon, where I believe it’s one day. But at least it’s longer than one session.

I hate having to ask, however, if you buy something that is Chairish only, and it’s in your favorites, please come back and click one of the Chairish images anywhere on my website. It doesn’t matter which one. There are always Chairish items on the Hot Sales Vintage page.

Here’s some good news, and I need to whisper because I’m sure they won’t like this, but too bad.

As a designer, I sometimes get offered a “private sale” price for items I’ve favorited. I heart everything that goes into my widgets, and many items I’ve saved. This price is lower than the price the general public sees. I’m happy to pass that information on to you.

So, when I say in a caption, “Offer such and such a price,” it’s because that’s my inside price or close to it. Since they’re offering me that price, they will be willing to go that low.

Please know that I don’t have an inside price for everything.

Even so, you can offer at least 10% below what they are asking, usually 20% or more!

Most of the items I am sharing are on sale, but if they’re not, it’s because their price is already good or there’s another discount you can’t see, but I can.

And many are limited time, meaning they’re ending today, it says, now that it’s 1:00 AM on the 17th.

Okay, I’ve done enough yacking. Tonight, the focus is on vintage dining room furniture. And most of it is from some of the highest-end companies like Kindel and Baker. These fine pieces’ prices are a tiny fraction of what it would cost if they were new.

Below are a few inspiration images before I share the beautiful vintage dining furniture widget.

Speaking of furniture, I know some of you wonder what’s happening here.

It is very slow going, but there’s progress. I received my Roman shades today; however, the windows still need to be washed, and one of them has a busted cord, so it won’t open or close. I did find a place today that washes and repairs. One-stop shopping makes life a bit easier.

My contractor, Robert, came over today. He’s returning on Friday to help me with the wall prep so I can get my Gracie panels up.

The dining table is in, and I’m waiting for a shipping quote.

At least my place is clean and quiet. Below is what things looked like a year ago.

I’m enjoying everything I have and still can’t believe I get to live here and in this beautiful city.

Please enjoy the widget of beautiful vintage dining furniture and some vintage rugs, lighting, and porcelain.

xo,

  1. Laurel, I’ve been reading your blogs for a while now, and every post feels like a masterclass in timeless taste. This one especially struck a chord—your eye for vintage dining furniture is unmatched! I love how you not only spotlight stunning pieces but also explain why they work so beautifully in a room. The warmth and craftsmanship in these vintage finds just can’t be replicated by modern mass-produced options.

I also appreciate how you guide readers to think beyond trends and invest in character and quality. Your links and curated picks are always so thoughtful—I’ve actually bookmarked a few from this post for my own dining room revamp. Thank you for continuing to share your passion and knowledge with such authenticity!

  2. Hey Laurel…I just ordered a few of the blue and white pieces. I’ve been meaning to buy some more, so thanks for your post. I’m a trade member on the site, so I went even a bit lower and was given the green light! I might buy one of the 1st Dibs seller’s Gustavian pieces – I love that style but the real deal ones are way out of my price range. I have a friend who restores Swedish antiques in Sweden but I think even a friend discount might be out of my range…especially with the cost of shipping.

I’ve been searching for a wonderful yet reasonably priced round foyer table, like the ones you’d see in a Ralph Lauren installation – replete with a tall vase and a pile of books. I mostly find dining tables or gateleg ones – or they are either too big or too small (end table size). Height 30-33” Diameter 36-40” if you find anything let me know!

  3. Hi Laurel,
I’ve purchased a couple of antique dining chairs recently & no one wants to sit in them because they are smaller than new chairs on the market. My company doesn’t feel comfortable in them.
Should I get new friends? 😉
    Any tips or suggestions?

    1. Hi Karin,

I feature Henredon all the time. However, the pieces are not always identified by manufacturer. There’s a Henredon piece in the Hot Sales widget that sold earlier this month. It’s the big Chinoiserie breakfront. I’ve featured Henredon numerous times in the widgets and in blog posts. I just did a search and found a lovely Chinoiserie coffee table for a good price, so I just added to the widget.
