My Back Bay Boston Living Room (Before the renovation, 2021)
It’s difficult for me to believe that this is my living room with all of the furniture I already owned; some of it for more than two decades. What’s really funny is, see that yellow teapot with the two cups? Well, I bought that in Boston, in a store on Newbury Street in the summer of 2013 during a visit with my son. I was staying in Back Bay then, but never dreamed I would be living here. There used to be more to the set, but it all came crashing to the floor about five years ago.

Unfortunately, one of my favorite vendors, Chairish, has decided for the third time to leave the affiliate network. Their leaving causes every link, if clicked to result in an error message. This is harmful to my business. I am trying to remove as many possible.
And yes, Chairish has come, left, come back, left again, come back a third time and now left for the third time.
Consequently, I am done with them. The company was bought in August.
It’s really a shame because I love the website and have bought from it at least a dozen times over the last five years.
From now on, the sources will be primarily Etsy, with some One Kings Lane, 1stdibs, and eBay, as well. For Etsy and eBay, the items might not be “on sale.” The reason is that the prices are usually already on the low side, and you can negotiate if you think it’s more than the item is worth. You can also negotiate on 1stdibs. BTW, there are some great deals on 1stdibs, but I know it has a rep for being quite expensive.
My goal with the widget is to provide you with classic pieces at a good price. Many are not easy to find. I have bought from this widget at least a half dozen times. So when I say these are items I’d have in my own home, it’s no joke!
