My Renovation Shopping List – Bathroom and halls (downstairs)

Below is everything I used for my new primary bathroom, which is connected to the embrasure hall, lower-level entry hall, and staircase by Kenneally Metals.

Above, a view from the new lower-level entry looking into the embrasure hall and primary bedroom.

Lower Level Entry - Benjamin Moore Knoxville Gray wall color - Newt Green Ceiling color

The walls are Knoxville Gray and the ceiling is Newt Green. Both are by Benjamin Moore.

The fabulous staircase railing is my design, adapted from the Upstairs Downstairs staircase and created by Kenneally Metals.

Above, my prized Zuber screen, which I’ve had for 25 years.

Lower entry crown moulding architectural details

The beautiful new crown moulding from Orac Decor and the beautiful return the carpenters created.

WC niche - Kohler Memoirs toilet - dark walnut toilet seat

The bathroom toilet niche is one of my favorite parts.

corner detail bathroom tile floor

Instead of doing another Greek Key design, I created a “key corner” with the tile. I adore this detail!

Another detail with the border tiles. Probably the bathroom border should’ve lined up with the niche borders, but it’s not something I ever notice.

Spending so many hours on every detail paid off.

My renovated bathroom with console sink

I adore the vanity niche and the hidden doors. Can you find them?

The faucet from Watermark is fantastic. You’ll find a link to one almost identical. It’s at Pottery Barn, but manufactured by Watermark.

The mirror from Ballard Designs looks antique. Of course, it’s not, and it’s under $300. It’s very light, too.

embrasure hall ceiling moulding by Orac Decor

The crown mouldings in the small ceiling areas in the embrasure hall (above and below) and bathroom, too, are each a moulding.

I was so impressed with the Orac Decor polyurethane mouldings, that I decided to use two more crowns for these areas. The two tall areas have the moulding below. And all of the other areas including the shower have the moulding below.

(note:) Many items in my home are vintage – one-of-a-kind and in some cases, what I used has been discontinued. In those cases, I tried to find good substitutes. There are also a few alternatives just for fun.
