One of my favorite design bloggers, Christina Fluegge, posted many cool kitchen lighting ideas on her blog.
Check them out here!
I wrote her that I would post some pics of a kitchen I did featuring these cool mercury glass pendants from Jamie Young. These are just quick snapshots. I’m planning on taking some better shots of her kitchen, family room, and gorgeous sunroom very soon.
Here is another photo, which shows in the background the drum pendant that we chose to go over the kitchen table.
Also, here is a closer view of the drum pendant designed by Thomas O’Brien for Circa Lighting, which is also reasonably priced.
It is always a challenge for me to find fixtures for the island that coordinate with what’s over the table. So far, I’ve always been pleased with the results, but it takes thought, research, and consideration. There are so many factors to consider for kitchen lighting ideas, such as style, size, and finish, not to mention the client’s desires!
Also, if you are looking for other great lighting ideas, here is a great post to check out too!
best wishes,
Laurel
PS: I left my kitchen file open and found this extraordinary kitchen with the coolest pendants evah! Sorry, I do not know the source. I probably found it either on Decor Pad or Houzz.

Laurel,
Always love to look at your work and this kitchen is no exception.. Are you willing to share the counter and backsplash material on the job??
Hi Kate,
The backsplash is a mini brick pattern out of Thassos Marble. The counters on the perimeter are soapstone and the island is a walnut butcher block.
