Hi Everyone,
It is now December 8th, and to help all of us, I’ve created some cool holiday gift guides. Also, to save you time, there are many beautiful widgets for holiday decor.
But first, as promised, I will show you my Christmas tree for 2024.
I hope you like it.
Below is a slightly different angle so you can get a better perspective of the darling tree I got at Ballard Designs a few years ago.
Laurel???
Yes?
Okay, I realize it’s buried in this hideous mess that is my dumping storage closet. This is where I got rid of all the small things I wanted to keep back in May 2023. Then, more got dumped in as time went on. However, some things like the living room sconces have also come out.
They were in here for an entire year.
So, why haven’t I taken my tree out yet?
Thank you, that’s an excellent question.
I opened the door to do so earlier today, but I just couldn’t do it. So, I closed the door and proceeded to walk for a three-plus mile walk to Whole Foods and back. That is much more important.
Anyway, I should be able to take it out tomorrow. Of course, the entire closet needs cleaning out. Alas, it’s not that simple. If only my fairy closet mother would show up and wave her magic wand, then I’d have closets with shelves and a bar or two.
These are from December 2021, one year after I moved to Boston.
My room still has a way to go. Even so, this side of the living room was never a problem, although I’m so glad we redid the wainscoting. Admittedly, the windows look better with the window treatments, but I want to do something else. While the curtains look good in the pics, the fabric was super-cheap polyester.
But the other day, I was looking through one of my folders and came across this image (below) that I didn’t post from the November 21st post.
The settings on my phone camera were still messed up, but it hit me.
This is my living room! It’s one of those “I can’t see the forest for the trees” moments when I finally saw the forest I’m incredibly blessed to own.
Okay, some of you may have seen the holiday guide that I and two part-time helpers put together in November and I just added a lot of wonderful gift ideas.
Things are broken down into categories, but there’s overlap.

There is now an Amazon link on my home page and below.
Please note that I have decided not to create a membership site. However, this website is very expensive to run. To provide this content, I rely on you, the kind readers of my blog, to use my affiliate links whenever possible for items you need and want. There is no extra charge to you. The vendor you’re purchasing from pays me a small commission.
To facilitate this, some readers have asked me to put
A link to Amazon.com is on my home page.
Please click the link before items go into your shopping cart. Some people save their purchases in their “save for later folder.” Then, if you remember, please come back and click my Amazon link, and then you’re free to place your orders. While most vendor links have a cookie that lasts a while, Amazon’s cookies only last up to 24 hours.
Thank you so much!
I very much appreciate your help and support!

Love your holiday guides and decor ideas! The festive inspiration and thoughtful gift suggestions make preparing for the season so enjoyable!
Lovely post, loved the Tory Burch tree most with the traditional greens and reds, and then the delicate soft green one, although I wasn’t sure at first if it was a tree or a fancy wedding cake lol:-) Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season from sunny FL!!
Thank you for the gift ideas, Laurel & team! And I love the picture of the new living room: because of the curved wall, from where you took the picture you can see the window reflected in the mirror, and in that reflection you can see the mirror again! Awesome. It’s going to be interesting figuring out the window treatment – I thought the old one was very beautiful because it seemed to respect and enhance the trim, with the fabric folds echoing the fluting. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Oh, I can SO relate to the closet pics!!!! Love your sense of humor!!!
Every time I read your posts I marvel at the transformation of your home. The images of what it looked like before always come to mind. The living room is so beautiful.
Thank you for the guide and the time spent in preparing it. I hope you enjoy a period of rest and relaxation this month. I am happy for you and your successes and am thrilled about the improving family relationships. I look forward to the ongoing decorating progress of your home and reading your upcoming posts. Have a blessed week!
I’m still looking at my Thanksgiving decorations 😊
On my way to my sons’ Choir Christmas Performance – I’ll look forward to hot coffee afterwards and pursuing the guide! Thanks, Laurel!
Good morning Laurel,
You & I must be on the same holiday decorating schedule. I haven’t done anything either.
I have completed my shopping though. Thank goodness for online shopping. How I managed to get it done in olden times is beyond me. Now I’m just waiting for my orders to arrive.
The gift guide is great. It’s so nicely organized.
Hahaha… I wondered about that, too. Then went back to the beginning and realized Laurel pointed it out in the very first photo!
Was there a Christmas tree in this post?
