What do you think about the color, pink? I guess I’ve always thought of it as one of those colors that’s really like the Cinderella of colors. These are some of the things I associate with when I think of pink: a baby girl’s nursery, bubble gum, cotton candy, pepto bismol, bunnies, elephants, hair curlers, Barbie, tacky house slippers— oh, and yeah… the holiday that everyone hates, but most won’t admit that either…
VD Day as I so sarcastically refer to it. Oh, it’s not that I’m not romantic. I am… exceedingly so, it’s just… that… well, you know and if you don’t, then you are very lucky.
However, would you ever paint your walls pink or use it as a predominant shade in your grown up living areas? I’m not sure that I would, but I would’ve never painted my living room yellow and yet… here I am surrounded by Benjamin Moore HC-4 (Hawthorne YELLOW) and I love it! Some wonderful designers have already paved the way for us. They prove that not only is pink the most flattering color to our skin tones, as we all know, it is indeed, a sophisticated and amazingly beautiful color worthy of the love it so richly deserves. Now, there are those out there who truly DO love pink and aren’t afraid to say so. However, for the rest of us cowards, there is truly nothing to fear or even apologize for. The lowly pink is actually the most sophisticated color of them all! Who knew? It can be soft and serene or strong and assertive. It compliments and it clashes but even so, it always seems to work out. It’s the color of our heart and it never lies.
I have a client who loves pink. As a matter of fact, this is the wallpaper that is going in her large foyer, stairwell, landing and upstairs hallway.
PINK
(note: you will not find this color online because it has been archived)
Here is a shot of her living room. We did the sofa/pillows, lamps, end tables, coffee table and drapes.
And how about this beauty?
Villa La Fiorentina
And of course there’s also this…
The pink sands of Bermuda
And then there’s this
Not sure when this was done, but it was a long time ago.
Pink is classic!
And now, for the rooms. (uncredited = source unkown)Â Oh my, I have so many for you; I don’t know where to begin.
Let’s start here.
I kinda expect Edith Wharton, herself to come bopping by for high tea. :]
Nancy Pearson West Palm Beach Showhouse
She’s totally not afraid to really commit to ONE color! haha!
Paris Apartment of apartment Frédéric Vasseur
I love everything she touches!
Okay, that’s not really pink, but these colors are amazing together, I think!
sorry, I searched high and low for the source but could not find it.
The it girl and for good reason. She’s a genius!

Modern Chinoiserie
Check out her website! very interesting!
Gold and pink clash? So??? Not when Windsor puts them together. Another genius and I WANT that coffee table!
The home of RosĂ©line Lohr. You can see the rest of it here. (but don’t forget to come back!) :]
An old photo from Stephen Shubel
I’ve admired his work hugely for over two decades; his rooms never look dated. That Chinoiserie coffee table is to die for!
Much love and appreciation to all who tread gently here…

Thank you so much Jenny. A large delivery of furniture is coming Thursday, so I’ll be taking more photos soon! Wait until you see the new media room. It’s killer.
So timely! I’m incorporating pink accents in the living room of our home in Maine. I was inspired by an oil painting in my shop. Beautiful photos, Laurel. xo
True story. My sweet mother couldn’t decide what colors to paint the walls of her very first (and only) owned house in her life. So what is a girl to do?! She painted every wall in the house her favorite color- PINK! Isn’t that cute?!
