Here is my New York Now Part II from my trip to the New York gift show in August (the market for home and lifestyle). Personally, I think they should call it the New York Home and Lifestyle Show.. That pretty much covers it. Oh, BTW, my ‘puter issues were driving me nuts. I’d type a few words, and my computer would just completely freeze up. It’s much better now. I called Microsoft, and they fixed everything up very nicely. (maybe)
So, back to some more pretty pictures.
The Art
I always love to stop at Wendover Art when I’m at the gift show. It’s a wonderful company. First of all, they have a fabulous collection of giclee decorative art prints, and the beauty is that they can often be re-sized if need be. Also, there are a lot of cool frames that are reasonably priced. I was looking for something wonderful to put over a client’s sofa. A sneak peak of the new living room is here and it’s a really crappy photo, but just to give you an idea. (There are obviously items that are not in the right place, and a lot that’s missing too.) I did everything but the sunflower painting and the brown table. (which is obviously out of place) There’s more that can’t be seen, like a gorgeous rug from Dash and Albert. later.

Okay, I cheated here and used the image from their catalogue as the angle was too obtuse.

These two were the finalists, and the client chose the painting of the marsh, which is a giclee that the artist enhanced and is quite a generous size.

Love this rug from Jonathan Adler, and the modern take on a Regency chair is cool too.

Above and below, cool Asian inspired furnishings with a fresh modern take from Red Egg

Above and below, just two examples of some wonderful bone inlay furniture from Manglam Arts. This is really hot right now.
