Well, the reason that I don’t give a flying crap about Black Friday 2017 is largely to do with my feelings about the over-riding pressure to buy, buy, buy on ONE day (which is probably not really one day) and more which I explained here.
And also because I ALWAYS do a hot sales page on Friday, anyway. So, this is just my normal offering of the best of the best in home furnishings deals that I’ve discovered.
However, as I’m going through my favorite vendors, even the jaded Laurel has to admit that the offers are AMAZING!
But before I go on!
Hope y’all who celebrate Thanksgiving had a beautiful holiday. Ours was very nice and have to say that the table surpassed my expectations with all of my new things from Pottery Barn.
I’ve included links in the widget on the hot sales page to everything I got for my holiday table.
Flatware – This is absolutely wonderful. It is stainless steel but somehow they made it look more like nickel. Just beautiful. I’m going to be using it every day!
Plates – really love these. The size and shape are just perfect. Unfortunately, the salad/dessert plates aren’t coming for another week or so.
Napkins – Love these simple hem-stitch linen in the natural colorway.
Napkin Rings – Exquisite!
Glasses – I’ve always love this style of glass. These are a good size for wine or water. I also got some regular tumbler glasses in this style.
Everything else I already had – Those are the candle holders I was talking about a few days ago.
So thrilled with all of my new purchases.
Now, I would post more photos, but guess what? My internet has been cutting out for huge chunks of time. Cannot figure out why. Naturally, it’s quite annoying, especially while I’m busy digesting last night’s yummy meal.
I have updated the Widget and favorite sales on the main Hot Sales Page.
Also, please check out the holiday shops as I have am constantly adding new things when I find them.
Keeping this short because well, I’m tired of wrestling with my computer and it is Black Friday (which might be why the computer issues?) But, if anyone is interested, please head over to the hot sales page to see some of my favorite offerings from favorite vendors. AND I’ve also included some of YOUR favorites, too!
Some things may go up in price at midnight. Not really sure.
Of course, I will update for Sunday’s post to the best of my ability!

Laurel,
Love your table, it’s absolutely exquisite!
There’s a lovely kitchen shop in Litchfield, CT and while buying a gift there ended up seeing what I believe are the exact same glasses. Bought one for myself and told the sales lady I’ll come by for another one the next time I need a treat! Are yours made in France?
Hi Linda,
Well, they are made in France but I got them at Pottery Barn! Here’s the link.
What a lovely table you set, dear Laurel! I’m only a tad late with good wishes for you and yours, but better than never. Agree re: black Friday; I kept myself blissfully at home, smugly insulated against mass consumerism hysteria.
Thanks so much Jane. It’s never too late! In fact, better now that my son has left. It’s always difficult for me. Now, I understand what my grandmother went through.
Love the table setting!! My Black Friday purchases? Six green ball ornaments for 68 cents at the thrift store. White plates with holly and berries on them, one dollar each at the thrift store. Happy shopping everyone!!
Hi Susie,
Sounds like you scored!
BEAUTIFUL table Laurel!! Wondering about your gorgeous chairs??
Thank you always!!
XO, Ellie
Hi Ellie,
I got those (there are four of them) at a little antique store in Newport Rhode Island probably about 17 years ago. Then, I had my upholsterer make new chair seats based on a photo I had seen. Still love the fabric which is actually a silk damask. I wasn’t joking about trying to get gravy stains out of the silk chairs. Once a friend’s son, who was about 10 at the time, dropped a huge chunk of vanilla ice cream on one of them. He was blissfully unaware of this occurrence. lol
Wonderful table setting! Where did you get the place mats?
Hi S.
Ahhh… Mary beat you to it by a few. Please see the answer below.
Laurel, you are the most amusing blogger out there. Thank you for all of your time and hard work! I love your table, my favorite thing is your placemats. I didn’t see them on the PB website…where are they from, if you don’t mind sharing?
Thank you! Have a wonderful weekend.
Hi Mary,
Those placemats were a gift from my beautiful friend Elaine who died nearly three years ago. They are actually paper! But I think that they compliment everything so beautifully!
Beautiful table Laurel…hope you had a wonderful day.
Thanks for your fun post!
Diane
Thank you so much Diane. And you too!
Your table is absolute perfection!
Thank you Sallyb!
Your table is gorgeous!
