- Accents of gold always warm up a room as well.
- Gold is classic and here to stay, so don’t be afraid to decorate incorporating gold and/or brass.
A question that I’m often asked is:
Can you mix gold or brass with silver or pewter?
And the answer is, YES!!!
In fact, some of the most beautiful designs, IMO are incorporating both warm and cool metals. We did this in the Bronxville kitchen which you can find in my portfolio. It’s the kitchen with the pretty crystal light fixtures. However, there’s a lot of nickel in the room too.
Does that mean that you should start using brass fixtures and hardware for your kitchens and bathrooms? That’s a tough one because we all know what happened the last time we did that. However, today’s brass and gold is either straight-edged and modern or unlacquered and truly antique looking. It’s up to you. I say if you love it, then go for it!
