Hello again and welcome to Part III of Americasmart July 2014 wrap-up. There is so much to share and I am being somewhat selective, so hopefully, you are enjoying seeing all of this stuff, because there will be at least one more post.
Americasmart July 2014
If you missed the other two parts and want to see them, you can look here and here. If you don’t feel like it and/or don’t know what Americasmart is— it’s a wholesale trade show for interior designers, and small store owners of boutiques, gift shops and home furnishings.
I’m starting today with a company that’s new to me— Europe 2 You, is what they call themselves. What I think is really interesting about this company is that they mix new pieces which look antique and REAL antiques and I cannot tell the difference! I was absolutely enchanted with these pendants, although if I was doing this for a job, I would’ve done three, not four and yes, these are new, made to look old
Above a one of a kind antique piece from Europe 2 You with a zinc top that I would use as a kitchen island
A retro inspired caned occasional chair from Europe 2 You. Some of these chairs are very pretty but not-so-comfortable. Not this one. I sat in a LOT of chairs at the show! Goldie-Laurel! :]
This photo cannot even come close to capturing the immense charm of this little chair at Chehoma. The lines are so, so pretty– so French and again— verrrry comfy.
More Chehoma tchatchkes. I know… Some of these showrooms look more like flea markets than anything else. I like that business model! BTW, the lighting for the Bronxville kitchen is on its way. I promise you that the kitchen will be finished one day. I am seeing it tomorrow. The wallpaper is up!
Back to Surya. I love this company and am immensely grateful to them for the delicious lunch for two days and some power to recharge my cell phone! These pieces are very interesting. They almost look like the BACK of the rug, right? That’s because they are sheered way down— with a marine-type hair-cut. haha! Hey… no shedding! And yes, ALL wool rugs DO shed!
Moving along to the vendor of my beautiful [now painted] Donald cabinet, Zentique. [you will need a trade account to access their site, I believe] I have to use this bookcase somewhere. Two of them flanking a window or door way, perhaps.
Another Bronxville client showed me this piece before I left. I found it at Zentique. It appears to be out of stock, but is perfect for her living room.
This rug was verrrry difficult to photograph. The colors are very sophisticated. The background is actually a deep gray-green. Again, from Surya
Mercury glass from Go Home a vendor that is actually headquartered in Queens, NY. [again, I believe their site is to the trade only] I have seen them at “New York Now,” however, this showroom at Americasmart July 2014 is literally about 20 times bigger. It’s a tremendous space— a never-ending flea market of the coolest furnishings.
One of the first showrooms I visited was Lili Alessandra. They have a fabulous collection of delicious linens and pillows. And as any of you know who read me regularly, I am a sucker for anything Greek Key! The cool light fixture is from Ro Sham Beaux.
Love all of the gorgeous pillows at Lily Alessandra! Amazing patterns and colors. I’m having fun with the picmonkey program for my watermarks. Love the special effects I can do and it’s soooo easy!
There is still more to come. I may take a short break, because I’ve been asked to write a guest post for another blog.
