Hey all… Last week, I spent an entire day at the New York Gift Show (August 2013) which they are now calling New York Now. (not sure how they came up with that name) Now, I will admit that the “gift show” is a kinda not-so-great name as it conjures up (at least for me) visions of women of a certain age selling tchatchkes at a little shop in one of the quainter parts of town. And most certainly they do sell all of that but also a lot of great boutique lines that sell directly to us designers which include accessories, rugs, lighting, art and even some furniture. I am dividing up my trip into two posts. Please enjoy some of my highlights of the summer 2013 Gift Show. (we still call it that)
Kinda stunning, isn’t it? http://bungalow5.com
Worlds Away has some of my favorite mirrors and this one is just wonderful as the sconces which are also new in their line. If you may recall, from last year, this was the vendor who deemed me a tastemaker!
Oh my, oh my Legend of Asia has really done it with this absolutely awesome fretwork coffee table. Genius! (and their ceramics ain’t bad either!)
Bliss Studio and their sister biz, Bliss Home and Design
And just above, these two really huge gorgeous lanterns. They would need a very high ceiling
Here is a scaled down version of the same lantern. I would put these over a kitchen island or a large rustic dining table. Fabulous!
Who could resist this Chinoiserie Tole dog bed? Hmmm… it could also make for quite a fancy litter box!
Another beauty from JM Piers— A fantastic Tole lantern. Comes in many colors.
Stunning statement mirror.
And finally from Ro Sham Beaux, this interesting retro lamp. We had another pink lamp that was on a forever back order, but I showed this to my client and she loved it, so I ordered a pair.
Stay tuned for Part II !
PS: the links for the vendors are embedded in the photos.
